Freiburg

This ancient university city is located within Germany’s Black Forest and is blessed with a temperate climate. Its pretty Old Town is crisscrossed with numerous streams and brooks, and features the impressive medieval Freiburg Minster which towers over the cobbled main square. The surrounding hills are a mecca for scenic hikes and the nearby Schlossberg hill is linked to the city by its own funicular.
