Tours

The largest city in the region Tours is the heart of the Loire Valley, renowned for its fairy-tale Chateaux’s and wine. Located on the Loire river itself the city boasts half-timbered buildings in Place Plumereau, the vast Cathédrale Saint-Gatien dating from the 11th century, and an impressing scattering of Roman ruins throughout. Tours is home to lots of green spaces and gardens, and the atmospheric flower market is evidence to the regions nickname of ‘The Garden of France.
